A Dreaming Man

Acrylic on wood panel      32”x32”      2015

I dreamed of feet passing back and forth in the air over my head while I lay on my back weeping tears of ecstatic joy. I knew these feet belonged to angels and they were looking for me. I was overwhelmed with joy to know that I am so loved and hunted. I had not the good sense to be afraid. I was too overwhelmed with happiness to do anything except surrender without regard for any cost yet to come. The old man in this painting rests his head on a hill, table, pillow that is at once both his dying and his birthing bed.
